About the National Capital Region Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association
We serve the Washington DC area, specifically:
- the city of Washington DC
- the Maryland counties of Montgomery and Prince George’s
- the Virginia counties of Arlington and Fairfax
- the Virginia cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax
The National Capital Region (NCR) Chapter is the largest chapter for Virginia Tech with over 30,000 members. To visit other chapters go to the Virginia Tech Alumni Association website http://www.alumni.vt.edu/
How do I become a member?
There is no fee to become a member of the chapter. You went to Tech, went to class (we think!) and now you're a Hokie alum. You're already a member.
Get active & participate! We endeavor to provide a variety of activities for local Hokies such as volunteer events like Volunteerfest and Carpenters Shelter, Chapter service and awareness at the Fairfax Fair, our annual job fair, sports teams, and social events like happy hours.
Awards
Our chapter has won several awards given by the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, including:
- Outstanding Chapter: 2008-2005, 2003-2002, 2000-1999
- Best Chapter Website: 2007, 2003
- Outstanding Fundraising Event: 2004
- Outstanding Golf Tournament: 2005
- Chapter Hall of Fame: Job Fair 2006
Scholarships
A major focus of the chapter is providing scholarships to Tech for local high school students. Find out more about how to apply for a scholarship.
Would you like to support our chapter activities?
We have many activities that need Hokie volunteers or event sponsors including committees and events (e.g. Family Events, Golf Tournament, Job Fair). Contact us if you can help!
"Aren't you the Hokie Club?"
This is a question we get a lot. We aren't the Hokie Club (but we do love Hokie sports!). The Hokie Club is the athletic booster club for Hokie sports. We're a chapter of the VT alumni association. Get connected to the local Hokie Club chapter.
